Jim Bradley is a member of the Salt Lake County Council. He was first elected to the Council in 2000 where he has served as a county-wide At-Large member. He also served as Chairman of the former Salt Lake County Commission from 1990-1994. He is currently a member of several civic boards including the Utah Film Center where he was a founding member, and the University of Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Past civic service also includes board memberships on the Children’s Service Society, Utah’s Hogle Zoo, and The Repertory Dance Theatre. Jim is married to Glenda Solomon Bradley who owns the 15th Street Gallery. In his service to Salt Lake County, the Councilman has worked hard and successfully to protect our environment by securing and maintaining open spaces throughout the Salt Lake Valley and by curbing overdevelopment of the Wasatch Canyons and foothills. He was awarded the coveted Phifferhorn Conservation Award in recognition of many of those activities. Additionally, Jim has long promoted the arts and culture in Salt Lake County. Successes there have included promoting local city art councils, laying the groundwork for the construction of the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts and, most recently championing the soon to be built regional theater in the City of Taylorsville. Most importantly, were his initial efforts to establish the Zoo, Arts, and Parks program, which has provided ongoing critical support for a multitude of local art organizations.
