Shelly Akerly for Dallas County Treasurer

I never imagined running for elected office but here I am. I believe that one cannot simply complain, but instead, must step up and be part of a solution. My education in accounting and life experiences in managing projects of various sizes have prepared me to step into this type of position. The Office of Treasurer should be run primarily as a fiduciary position, not a political position.
