Hi, I'm Alisa Allred Mercer and I am running for Davis School Board (SB1)

Hello!

I'm running for school board because I am the mother of three children in the Davis School District and I care about quality schools and education. I am grateful for the dedication of Davis School District's teachers and staff who have partnered with me in educating my children for the last 10 years.  

Education has always been important to me. My mother was a 2nd-grade teacher. Before becoming a parent, I trained teachers in Guatemalan refugee camps, led literacy programs in the Dominican Republic, and helped develop a curriculum for adult English language learners in Utah. More recently, I worked as the Client Services Manager at the Bountiful Food Pantry where I connected with families throughout Davis County. 

In my children's schools, I have served on the Community Council for Boulton Elementary, South Davis Jr High, and Woods Cross High School. I have also served with the PTA and as a classroom volunteer, which has helped me gain insight into the school district.  

I believe strong schools build strong communities. I envision a district where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to excel.
