Brooke D’Sousa is a long-time Sandy resident, small business owner, and dedicated public servant seeking re-election to the Sandy City Council.
Elected in 2021, Brooke has championed community engagement, transparent governance, and fiscal responsibility. She led efforts to create the citizencomment@sandy.utah.gov email address, giving residents a simple way to reach all seven council members. She launched Sandy’s Youth City Council and initiated the First Responder and Autism Community Night to build stronger connections between public safety professionals and residents on the spectrum.
Brooke has served on numerous committees, including the Sandy Arts Guild, Public Utilities Advisory Board, Senior Center Advisory Committee, Utah League of Cities and Towns Legislative Policy Committee, Sandy Youth Council, and The Sandy Club. She also worked with city departments to reform credit card processing fees, saving taxpayers over $300,000 annually.
Public safety will always be a top priority for Brooke. She proudly supported the rebuilding of Sandy’s central Fire Station 31 to ensure emergency response keeps pace with community needs. She is equally committed to preserving public open space and protecting Sandy’s natural beauty.
Brooke holds a business degree from the University of Utah and has nearly two decades of financial services experience. In her next term, she will focus on more economic development, affordability, and maintaining quality services while keeping taxes and fees low.
Brooke and her husband are raising their three children in Sandy and she’s committed to preserving the city’s character for generations to come.
