Matthew Tracy for Holladay City Council, District 4

Hello everyone, my name is Matthew Tracy, and I am running to represent the citizens of Holladay, Utah, District 4. I am a native born Utahn who grew up in Highland, Utah at the mouth of American Fork Canyon before leaving Utah to attend Brown University. Since graduating from college, I have worked for over 35 years as an Architectural Design professional, first in the Aspen, Colorado region and then later in Park City and Millcreek, Utah.

In the tradition I was born and raised in, I was taught we are all members of a shared human family. Therefore, we are responsible for not only our own well-being but also the health and safety of our larger, shared Utah community. If I am fortunate to earn the votes of the citizens of my district, I will use the values and principles I was taught as a child to guide my decision making process while doing all I can to improve the lives of all of Holladay’s citizens, no matter who they are.

No human being—and me especially-- is owed any person's vote. Therefore, it is my responsibility to wake up every day understanding I am the people's servant, responsible to lift up each and ever human being living in my district. Planning, aging infrastructure, accessible housing, community policing, and clean air are all issues near and dear to my heart. While knocking on doors, however, I’ve also learned each citizen of our district has their own unique problems and issues, which I am responsible to understand, and wherever possible, fix, nurture, and sometimes even heal. If a person's trash isn’t being picked up, their roads not properly plowed, or even if they are experiencing a rough patch in their own life--because this person is a citizen of my district—their problems will become my problems.

As much as I dislike asking for money, I also know a campaign cannot succeed without it. I also know every single person reading this post has worked hard for every penny they have earned--therefore-- I would be deeply honored and grateful if you would be willing to donate your hard-earned money to help elect me to the Holladay City Council. If you believe in me and my vision of our shared Utah community--a community belonging to every last one of us-- I humbly request your help.
