I am thrilled to represent my friends and neighbors in downtown Salt Lake City. Over the next four years, I am committed to delivering real results to enhance the quality of life for our constituents. Will you support me to ensure that I have the resources to amplify these important measures?
Safety and Security:
• Promote proper investment into operations and systems, including:
equipment, training, and community education, to enhance public safety.
• Secure public assets and provide transparency around safety issues
to foster a secure environment.
Homeownership and Housing:
• Increase homeownership opportunities through land trusts and
City incentives for first-time homeowners.
• Focus on expanding the housing supply, including units, condos, and adaptive
reuse of existing structures, to address the demand for more housing.
• Promote and advocate for sustainable development.
Transit:
• Implement pedestrian-friendly urban spaces and long-term walkability
plans to enhance mobility and accessibility.
• Expand the free-fare zone and collaborate with UTA to adjust investments and
routes based on community input, studies, and the City’s transit master plan.
Environmental Concerns:
• Address indoor air quality in schools and explore City-wide policies
for HEPA filters to protect residents' health.
• Strategize to reduce the urban heat island effect and promote green initiatives,
such as green roofs and stricter policies for developers.
Securing and Enhancing Downtown:
• Create strategies to increase revenue, decrease vacant spaces and buildings by
eliminating land banking, and address land use deficits.
• Suggest an ordinance with fees for prolonged non-developed properties to
encourage responsible property management.
• Invest in business districts.
Community and Green Spaces:
• Advocate for more access to parks and green spaces, particularly in District 4.
• Encourage maximum utility of City-owned assets to benefit the community.
Bringing Families to Downtown
• Champion the financial investment for a Community Learning Center in District 4.
• Expand childcare services access.
• Promote safe streets, parks, and housing to bring families back to Downtown.
