Hawkins for Virginia

I am running for office because I believe in the power of the people more than I believe in the government. I believe in people living their lives, any way they choose, so long as they don’t force their beliefs on, or harm another person.

I believe people and business owners should feel empowered; however, our current government has so many unconstitutional laws and red tape, the people become more and more powerless while the government gains more and more power.

Partisan and career politicians often recommend and vote on policy based on emotion, without considering how these policies will harm the rights of innocent and law abiding citizens. There are always groups of people tremendously damaged by these types of policies and it’s time to end that.

Both the Democrat and Republican parties push us into further division, presume authority over us and live like royalty at our expense. We are paying for endless wars, endless brutality and endless harm of innocent people. Entirely too many Americans are left hopeless, scared and broken. There is suffering all around us and we feel powerless to stop it.

We don’t have to live this way. We don’t work for the government. The government is supposed to work for us. We own our lives, our bodies, our labor and our property.

We were made to be free and only you have the power to fix it.

You ARE the power.
