This campaign is personal for me.

I didn’t just grow up in Clarendon County—I was shaped by it. I walked the halls of our schools, from Walker-Gamble Elementary to East Clarendon. I saw firsthand what happens when a community pours into its children—and what happens when support is missing.

I was raised by a young mother who was determined to create a better life, not just for herself, but for me. And it was people in our school system—programs like the parenting center—that helped make that possible. They didn’t just educate students, they uplifted families. They changed lives. They changed my life.

That’s why I’m running.

Because every child in District 8 deserves that same chance—to be seen, to be supported, and to succeed. Every parent deserves to feel connected to their child’s education. And every teacher deserves the tools and respect to do what they do best: shape the future.

This isn’t just about policies or meetings. This is about real people. Real families. Real outcomes.

I’m running to strengthen literacy so no child is left behind.

I’m running to bridge the gap so parents and schools work together—not apart.

I’m running to support our teachers because they are the backbone of our system.

And I’m running to prepare our students for a future full of opportunity.

This is my story—but it’s also our story.

And together, we can write a better next chapter for District 8.
