The Nourish to Flourish Initiative

With almost 40 million jobs lost in the U.S. in just two months, housing is at risk and food insecurity has skyrocketed. But, like in most crisis situations, there are often silver linings. As the lockdown took effect in Salt Lake City, a small group of people from Sentry Financial, the Lightspark Foundation, and Pulp Lifestyle Kitchen began a conversation about how to address food insecurity while simultaneously supporting the restaurant industry. That conversation quickly evolved into an action plan for The Nourish to Flourish Initiative, which consists of three pillars: restaurants preparing food, organizations serving under-resourced groups, and community members providing funding.

The Nourish to Flourish Initiative is administered by the Lightspark Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity (EIN: 81-3990658). Donations to the Lightspark Foundation/Nourish to Flourish Initiative are tax-deductible. 100% of donated funds will be used to purchase meals to feed those experiencing food insecurity (all administration of the Nourish to Flourish Initiative is performed on a volunteer basis).
