My WHY for running for Sandy City Council is grounded in my desire to be a protector in the community. I want to be a part of a city government that not only protects and serves its residents but empowers its residents to protect and serve one another. Why Me? Experienced leader Purposeful collaborator Data-driven decision maker Why Now? Ensure the safety of Sandy City residents Improve communication Promote effective collaboration Why City Council? Foster productive partnerships that strengthen our economy Address upstream challenges for education Protect our open spaces As a leader, I am a perpetual reader. I am hungry to learn how to hone my leadership skills in order to bring the best out of those with whom I work. I have found that one of the very best models for this kind of leadership is Abraham Lincoln. I seek to lead like Lincoln as I chase impact. I love collaboration and believe it is the ONLY way to accomplish great things in our community. My core belief about leadership is summed up in the following quote attributed to John Quincy Adams: "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more you are a leader." My years of experience in education and leadership will serve me well as a member of the Sandy City Council. Together, we can chase the impact we desire to have in our city.
