Hi, my name's Michael. I’m a grateful father, husband, native Utahn, social worker, and appreciator of the outdoors. I listen to people for a living, and I want to listen to You.

Our political system has gotten increasingly divisive. Some care more about “winning” than serving the best interests of their constituents and communities. Certain politicians and groups even purposely divide us for political gain. I’m getting involved because I know there's a better way. I believe there is much more that connects us than separates us. I’ve worked with well-known people, people across the state, country and even internationally. The thing is, we’re all much alike. We do ourselves a disservice when we awfulize one another, unfairly judge other “sides,” and don’t take the time to have meaningful dialogue with decency and respect. We have a lot to learn from each other. Running for office takes some courage and vulnerability. I care about what’s happening in our communities and world, and I care about what we’re leaving for our children and future generations. I want to be involved and I want to make a difference.

Professionally and as a volunteer, I have worked intimately with people and diverse groups; helping bridge relationships and effective collaboration. I’ve facilitated thousands of hours of group work; sometimes with people working toward common goals, and others through crisis and conflict.

I hope to build a coalition of people across the aisle and political spectrum. We are better when we work together, and weaker when we work against each other. I welcome all Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, those who are unaffiliated, of the United Utah Party, Forwards, No Labels, new voters, the politically curious, and any who are understandably politically discouraged. As frustrating and polarizing as politics have become at times, your voice is important. Your place and contribution in our community is valuable and needed.
