Podeyn For Arizona Duty Honor Integrity Service Before Self

   My name is Scott Podeyn. I’m a retired disabled enlisted Air Force veteran. I retired as a Technical Sergeant. My career field was Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, or I was a weapons loader and aircraft mechanic/electrician on tactical fighter aircraft. I spent ten years of my career overseas with 3 tours in Korea, one in the Philippines, and one in the United Kingdom. I was deployed at the end of Desert Storm to Dhahran Saudi Arabia and twice to Al Jaber Kuwait for Operation Southern Watch the no-fly zone over Iraq. I was also deployed to Incirlik Turkey for Operation Northern Watch and Operation Desert Fox. I then was deployed to Aviano Italy for Operation Allied Force the NATO mission to end the Kosovo genocide. I served as the Weapons Loading and Maintenance Supervisor for all assigned Aircraft during the the two Combat Deployments. I retired in 2002 I live by the creed of Honor and integrity with everything I do and service before self.

I graduated from Central New Mexico Community College in 2008 as a member of Phi Theta Kappa national honor society and the University of New Mexico with a BS in Geography in 2008. I don’t have a resume in politics never thought I needed one. I Just another broken veteran and I have dedicated my life to serve others. I have ideas on how to help everyday Arizonans trying to make ends meet.

    I’m running on a platform of fair and equitable funding for education. I’ve had enough with tax dollars supporting for profit schools at the expense of our public schools.

I want to increase the funding of our state universities and community colleges.

Institute mandatory full day education for every child from four years old into PreK education.

Require full day Kindergarten education.

The leased space maintenance would be the responsibility of the property ownerCollect a tax from for profit (charter schools to gain accreditation from our publicly funded colleges and universities. I’m focused on water conservation. I want to work with the CAP commission the conservancy districts and the state engineer to stretch every drop of water. I will work with agriculture to develop a plan for tax credits to convert from spray watering to drip irrigation.

I want to create a medical bankruptcy grant for families that simply can’t afford the cost of an accident injury or severe illness.

I want to make social security payments non-taxable non-reportable. In other words your social security payments don’t exist as income and are not required to be on your state income tax form.
