Message
“It feels like when people go to Tahlequah to represent us on the Tribal Council, they are forced to choose sides. I don’t agree with that.”
“I’m a lifelong resident of Stilwell. Even when I went to college, I drove back and forth to stay close to my family. I’m married to the love of my life and we have three beautiful children. I want to help build a Cherokee Nation that gives everyone a chance to have a quality job and stay close to the people and the communities we love.
“I won’t be on THIS side or THAT side. I will always be on OUR side.”
Trust -- OUR people must be able to trust the programs and businesses that are there to help strengthen them. We must create diverse solutions to serve those in dire need of help.
Economy -- If we cannot create quality paying jobs and careers of tomorrow, OUR children and grandchildren will be forced to leave home to find work. We must be able to build from within to grow prosperity throughout OUR tribe.
Health Care – OUR people need a Wellness Center in Adair County that provides them an opportunity to live healthier lives. It is our responsibility to provide OUR people with the resources to improve their personal health.
Culture & Language -- OUR culture is what makes the Cherokee Nation distinctly different from our non-indigenous neighbors. When tribes lose their culture, they lose their path.
Education -- As a first-generation college student and graduate, I understand the power of an education and what it can mean to OUR tribe. The future of Cherokee Nation depends on the opportunities afforded to OUR people through their education.
Elders – OUR elders are the keepers and strength of OUR culture. We have a responsibility to seek out elders in need and ensure they are cared for and heard.
