Tarolyn Thrasher for State Delegate District 3A

Through much reflection and prayer, and with my family’s enthusiastic consent, I made the life changing decision to not rest until my city fully reflects the amazing people of my community. To that end, I will be the first Black woman from Frederick City, MD to run for a State Delegation. It is a prestigious opportunity to be a representative and role model.

We all believe that children are our best investment. They are entitled to a public-school education that will prepare them to remain competitive in a rapidly expanding global economy. In addition, it is imperative to work with the State Legislature to apply State tax laws that allow parents of special needs children to attend public schools in Frederick. It will ensure that the workforce of tomorrow is more than adequately equipped for its challenges and successes.

During this tumultuous time, it is critical to address the issues of law enforcement. A strong relationship and transparency with mutual trust must be established between our communities and the police departments which is vital. If citizens don’t feel safe to communicate with those who serve them, we cannot move forward.
